Pulmonary Imaging

Pulmonary ImagingThe use of MRI and CT, both non-invasive and without significant risk, has greatly improved the radiologist’s ability to diagnose and treat lung disease. Magnetic resonance angiography can detect the presence of pulmonary embolism and assess lung diseases such as emphysema.  Chest X-rays, among the most commonly used X-rays, are also valuable in diagnosing conditions affecting the chest, chest walls, lungs and heart. They may detect evidence of pneumonia, congestive heart failure or industry-related lung problems such as mesothelioma or diseases related to coal dust.
